The globe model would have you believe that as a result of the Coriolis Effect the air and water currents in the Northern hemisphere travel in the opposite direction of that of the Southern Hemisphere. Cargo ships navigating from North to South have never encountered such atmospheric phenomenon as it would be an impossible transition for any ships.
