Hi Brian. I like the seriousness of you inquiry. But I think there's more science to be known here. Like resonance frequency. Lke how they measured thermospere temperature. Like direct sunlight contact temperature just to mention those I can think of. I'm a French Canadian and on a winter day with minus 6 celsius ambiant temperature, the snow will still melt by direct sun in beginning of March. Also, on any second you are bombarded by all sorts of rays and neutrino. Billions of neutrinos per square inch per second by the way. And yet you are not affected. That's because of resonance. Think for a specific ambiant temp, rocks and iron rods are cold to the touch when other materials are warmer. Just things to think with. Direct sunlight hit by the Sun out around the Earth in space will heat you up at around 120 Celsius. That's on the sunny side but dark side is cold at around minus 150. I don't know how they measured thermosphere temp to get 1500 degrees but I suspect they got the frequency reading on the radiowave spectrum for what spreaded molecules are out there. Depending on the resonance and other factors, I suppose they can get pretty heated but won't affect satellites much because of dissipation factore being low similar to the the wind chill factor since they are very spreaded around. Do they lie to us? Do they keep much scientific developments from us? Like you won't believe. Seen the bubbles and I'm convince this Chinese space walk was filmed in a pool. I believe on use of harnest and green screen for fake coverage of space station for the show. But I suggest you watch a visit of space station given by one female astronaut video. She goes around floating and no harnest can produce what you see. I believe that Apollo missions were a show. But I believe they had more advanced technologies that they cared to let us know of. Flat Earth, to me, however I tried to make it work, didn't. I'm just thinking of southern hemisphere seing a different sky than northern's.
