WHY IS THE NIGHT SKY NOT ILLUMINATED?

  - 1:04

This is what we are told but my argument is how is that even possible considering the scale of the Sun in comparison to the planets? “At night, when that part of Earth is facing away from the Sun, space looks black because there is no nearby bright source of light, like the Sun, to be scattered. If you were on the Moon, which has no atmosphere, the sky would be black both night and day.” https://starchild.gsfc.nasa.gov › docs Why is space black? - Starchild (NASA)
