This is a real question, not a rebuttal. Is it possible that they are in a geosynchronous orbit? I believe there are geostationary, meaning the object stays still relative the the earth's rotation. In this case you would see the relative rotation of the earth. However, not true for geosynchronous orbits, these objects rotate at the same speed as the earth, thereby you would see no relative rotation.
