The Catholic Church (although filled with many bad people trying to destroy it) is the church that Jesus Christ started with the first pope being Peter. Yes corruption has in many times and even now gotten into the church to try to destroy it but Jesus said to Peter, you are rock and upon this rock I build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The gates of hell keep trying though.
