Um... I don't think NASA's statement passes the sniff test. There's so much corn being produced in the U.S. that we can't eat it all, so we turn the excess into fuel for our cars. I don't think there is going to be a shortage of corn any time soon.

One issue is that they are producing corn to use as fuel rather than food. Now that's idiotic.

Funny that plants on land require both H2O and CO2 to make C6H12O6, the fundamental energy and structural molecule. Fun fact, the misunderstanding that CO2 is converted to O2 by plants; rather, is in fact that H2O is stripped of it's hydrogen, and that hydrogen is added to the CO2, leaving the remaining oxygen to eventually combine with another in a series of intermediate reactions. So water is turned into oxygen, and nowhere does CO2 become O2, except on an accountant's ledger.

That is the reason they want CO2 reduced, soylent green is people.....
