Hello! In fact there are two temperature normals, but no normal temperature. The first is the is the average over a 30 year period. The normal temperature is fixed at the last 30 year avarage. The second is the mean temperature for a time periode +- the standard deviation for the same time period. Then a winter temperature normal may come out as -17,7 to -2,2 C as normal, as 68% of the measurements are within that range. And where I live 3/19 was the warmest in at least 143 years! But 3/16 to 3/18 in 1881 was warmer than the same days this year, and they all were "warmer than normal". Seramakjell

Barrow, Alaska is on my phone allowing me to watch its temperature all year long. The lowest temperature I saw all winter was -30F. I found it interesting that here on the first day of Spring, with the sun up there for 12 hours per day, it still managed to hit -29F. On last night’s ABC news, they were saying “Record hot temperatures at both the poles.” Well, I don’t think so. I believe -29F for the first day of Spring even in Barrow, Alaska is unusually cold, basically matching the coldest day of the year there.

Thanks Tony, scaring people is totally irresponsible. It seriously damages the well being of anxious and vulnerable people. There are already enough who will never recover from the covid propaganda. Young children are exposed to this stuff on breakfast TV and the conversations of their parents. I was a small child during WW2 and adults at that time did all they could to protect us from the horrors and compensate us in every way they could for all the things we were going without. Today, far from being protected, children are thrust into the front line by the media and by governments. I too saw the melting ice caps story - thought (hoped) you might comment. Without an atmosphere the sun would heat the surface of the earth to the same temperature as the sun - over 120C. The atmosphere does not warm the earth, it keeps it cool, but it also distributes heat around. However, the oceans have a significantly higher thermal capacity then air and it is the oceans that absorb the sun's energy and distribute it.

I'm willing to venture a guess: any warming or sea ice melting we see is underwater vulcanism. We're seeing plenty of evidence of activity around the Ring of Fire, and some volcanic activity on the opposite side of the earth as well.

However, a European citizen who has been living and working in 9 different countries as a Biologist (Ph.d) I like to suggest to be careful regarding COVID, vaccine & Russia.

I'm in Victoria Australia we have scientist down in Antarctica and they are down there for one reason, to find anything that they can link co2 from humans too, If I had my way every scientist down there would be put on a ship and sent back to Hobart.
