P.S. The portion of the video about drought in California harkens back to Steinbeck's, "To a God Unknown."

The NPR energy graph is interesting, especially if you consider the point later in the video that about 60 million gallons of hydrocarbon fuel is used each day in California cars and trucks. Spread evenly over the day, California hydrocarbon vehicle fuel use amounts to about 85 giga-Watts. Hmmm. That is about four times the peak power shown on the NPR graph. Conclusion: California should switch as soon as possible to conflict battery powered vehicles.
