I have lived in Michigan for 58 years - every year we hear about the great lakes being too high, too low, eroding shore line, sand bars and a hundred other tragedies. Well Lake Michigan looks about the same as when I was a kid - except that it is cleaner now, less polluted.

I've never encountered the term "gaslighting" before this past year, but it's so appropriate for the desperate fear-mongering blasting out of once-respected journals. I think the quote is something to the effect that "if you can keep people in a state of fear, their critical thinking skills are limited or eliminated altogether". It's apparent to me that people have stopped thinking, are too lazy to seek out real information, and are clueless about the clear and present dangers of censoring and silencing those trying to present factual information.
