Thanks Tony! Fascinating footage. Most people today think we are so so superior - so much ahead of our ancestors in every way. But I beg to differ. Almost the entire city in this film was built in a 50 year period without the use of computer aided design, large equipment, materials science, or in fact most of the technology we use today. What they accomplished is awe inspiring. And the sense of optimism and purpose evident in every person in the film can not be matched today either. I think the fact that everybody contributed to society was a factor. Today, only about 30% (I know, I am being generous) really contribute meaningfully. We really should have more respect for those that came before us. Our world today is drowning in hubris.

The earth quake must have been causes by climate change. If only the San Franciscans of 1906 had been as educated as their modern progressive replacements, they're city wouldn't have been destroyed.
