The 'greenhouse effect' actually breaks the First Law as well by failing to account for the energy involved. This is either an error in the spatial distribution (failing to recognise that attenuation along a line of sight occurs because energy is scattered from it, into adjacent sight lines, instead we hear the myth that the gas magically blocks radiation, contrary to Kirchoff's Law). A less common, but equally spurious, result is obtained by only integrating the energy over limited wave bands, thus ignoring a certain proportion of it. This arrant nonsense constitutes the 'irrefutable settled science' on which this entire behemoth rests. Little wonder we are discouraged from taking a critical look at the actual science.
