Not getting into globe/flat(ish) earth shape discussion, but picture this on a globe model: are temperatures hotter when solar incidence is maximum or when it's minimum? I look at the poles and can't help but notice that they seem cooler than the temps at the equator (or at the Tropics of Cancer/Capricorn on the Solstices). Alternatively, is the daytime temp generally hotter than the nighttime temp (when air is dry or thin)? Glad Google *silently* admits that there's not enough available CO2 in the atmosphere to make any difference whatsoever!
