120V is transformed down to like 3.5VDC at the plug transformer. The (EMF) from 120V will be carried through the 3.5vdc conductor as though it is a higher voltage like an antenna if you will and give a false reading. Test at the phone with real meter and u will see its only 3.5vdc. These testers work but will mislead the uniformed, don't ask me how I know...
Hydro will go through his body to others probably, like if he held someones hand. Then test the other person, a signal would be there in the other persons hand. I just bet it would beep.
