Civilization is a cyclic construct it seems. Life has become so easy as to let and encourage the dumber of the species to propagate and out breed the smarter member's within. Taxation literally services interest on national debt and nothing more. Given adequate GDP and high value goods being produced (err uhm not big macs) it would be possible to eleminate taxation and create money intrest free without adversely affecting inflation for a time.
