Dennis Meadows Interview p2-4 (Science & Heart to Heart Communication)

  - 11:23

Sourced of - We Love Earth - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfmaLnpV1Go We hope you are all enjoying our special interview series with Dennis Meadows, author of 'The Limits to Growth' (1972) – a report that truly kick-started modern environmental thinking, addressing one all-important fact: Earth is physically finite – therefore endless material growth, the foundation of the global economy, is scientifically impossible – a collective delusion we suffer till this very date. Yesterday Dennis Meadows spoke about 'The Limits to Growth' and how he now – at 75 years of age – views the current state of our planet, compared to his own hugely influential forecasts of 45 years ago. It also addresses the subjects of climate change and population growth. If you haven’t seen it, you can watch it here – we highly recommend that you do: http://bit.ly/2et08pp Today we have part 2 of 4 – and if possible we think it’s even more interesting to watch. The world is still right on track of the ‘overshoot & collapse’ scenario, as predicted in 1972 – so what have we not done, that we should do, to turn that tide? What’s the role of caring, compared to knowledge? Meadows speaks of the Dalai Lama and the Pope, but also his own sober realism, a world-view based on factual observations – and expresses the big challenge: how we can make people have both a scientific understanding of the very real issues we face, and also make them care enough to actual take action. Among other question we ask Meadows ‘can a graph change the world?’ – and what drives him personally to act. As always, you get suprising and eye-opening answers. Please share this interview series with friends – and stay tuned for part 3 and 4 in our following post on @We Love Earth! Thank you all very much! (for more go to www.weloveearth.org)
