It's to stop piracy (movies usually 700MB+) and protect the server from having to process too large of videos. If people ask me I usually just bump up their max size to whatever they want. And sorry about the long processing time, I was behind on a lot of stuff. I marked you as Trusted though so you don't need to go through moderation anymore!
