Regardless the people who drowned thought they were aboard the Titanic at the time but I have heard the story of the twin ship being swapped out.
There was also a book published a decade prior to the incident named The Wreck of the Titan: Or, Futility 1898 novella by Morgan Robertson, which is eerily similar.
