Circular ownership = "keiretsu" (Japanese: 系列, literally system, series, grouping of enterprises, order of succession) -- i.e., the latticework of corporate ownership which serves to insulate each connected company from market risks and fluctuations which could otherwise damage of destroy it; a reticulation of corporate finance throughout multiple companies.
