The drop of ink in water is a reworked version of the bogus bottle trick where CO2 in a flask blocks the image of an IR source. However, it does not 'block' the energy, which is absorbed and re-radiated by the glass. That is why the flask still appears bright. If the energy were blocked it would appear dark in the thermal imager. It isn't an experiment, it is a conjuring trick which catches out the unwary.

And yesterday we were supposed to have snow on Cup Day, or the coldest Cup Day for 14 years. Mainly due to Freezing cold air from the Arctic, on top of full dams, rain and more rain.
