Well done Tony! Another example of what happens to a carbonated liquid due to a warming event: Leave a glass of cold beer or soda out on the counter overnight, the carbonation completely evaporates, and the liquid is totally "flat" in the morning.

The very concept of specifying a value for the "global temperature" of given year and this to an accuracy of a fraction of a year is obvious nonsens! Is this supposed to be 1. The spatial average temperature at sea level over the whole surface of the Earth at a certain instance 2. Average value over one full year of the spatial average above But it is clear that it has never existed (and will never exist) the network of observation point spread over the whole Earth surface that would be required in order to compute the spatial average "1" to the accuracy of a fraction of a degree! One could try to compute a rough estimate for "1" but the accuracy of this would be of a completely other magnitude. Tony has often enough pointed out that the only part of the Earth for which a reasonably accurate "spatial average" can be computed is USA where consistent observations have been made over a sufficiently dense network of observation points the last 120 years
